Nobody is above the law… at least no one is supposed to be above the law in the United States of America, yet a new viral video details exactly how the system works in your favor as long as your name is Hillary Clinton.
The FBI deputy director tasked with overseeing the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information has extremely close ties with one of her allies: Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. But that’s not all folks: the super PAC run by the Hillary ally donated almost $500,000 to the state senate campaign of that FBI official’s wife!
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe reportedly urged Dr. Jill McCabe, the wife of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, to run for the Senate seat in 2015.
Terry McAuliffe’s super PAC, Common Good Virginia, was the largest donor to McCabe’s campaign. The donation to her race was the third-largest issued by the PAC last year.
Not only did the Virginia governor’s super PAC donate to the wife of the FBI official in charge of Hillary’s investigation, but so did the state Democrat party, which McAuliffe holds a lot of influence over. This donation was more than $200,000.
The McCabe campaign donations, courtesy of the Common Good Super PAC and the Virginia state Democrat party, totaled in excess of $675,000. That accounts for more than one-third of Dr. Jill McCabe’s total fundraising for her campaign. Isn’t it odd they would invest such a large sum of money towards a newcomer running against a popular incumbent? Dr. McCabe’s campaign wasn’t successful.
The FBI has, of course, denied that this massive amount of money prompted bias on the part of Andrew McCabe into Hillary’s investigation. According to the federal agency, McCabe did not participate in any fundraising events or activities involving his wife’s Virginia campaign. As if his non-participation somehow signaled he wouldn’t appreciate the “generosity” of those who funded his wife?
Prior to his wife’s run for office, Andrew McCabe was the associate deputy director at the FBI. He was promoted to his current post just a few months after his wife’s campaign ended and was then put in charge of the investigation into Clinton’s mishandling of classified information.
A representative from Governor Terry McAuliffe’s office claims he only recruited the FBI deputy director’s wife to run and handed over a big wad of money because he felt she would be a good state senator. “This is a customary practice for Virginia governors. Any insinuation that his support was tied to anything other than his desire to elect candidates who would help pass his agenda is ridiculous,” the staffer added.
Governor McAuliffe is currently under federal investigation by the FBI himself.
The Washington FBI field office is looking into campaign donations McAuliffe may have made on the behalf of Wang Wenliang, a Chinese businessman.
