Jay Leno Makes Surprising Defense Of Trump From Attacks Of Late Night Hosts…

Good on you, Jay Leno!!! We are all for Trump, thanks Jay for your support!!!

The hyperpartisan nature of attacks by Hollywood and the media against President Donald Trump seems finally be getting some pushback, not just from conservatives, but from some unusual sources one might not think.

Geraldo Rivera, certainly no conservative and no big fan of Trump, chastised the media for their largely unsourced attacks and ridiculous claims without evidence of obstruction of justice or impeachment.

He also said the leaking being done by officials was being done to undermine the President without concern for what harm was causing our position in the world with our allies and our enemies.

Classic line? ‘Whatever you think of Trump, imagine how daunting it is to go to work each day surrounded by rats’

Jimmy Fallon also pushed back against the thought that late-night comedians should some how be required to bash Trump as a constant function of their shows.

Despite the fact that Stephen Colbert’s ratings have gone up since his infamous attack on Trump using a homophobic slur, Fallon has said that he will not change his comedy to make it a Trump-bash fest.

That takes some principle in an industry where there isn’t a lot.

Now, Jay Leno is echoing Fallon. Once again, not someone who is a fan of Trump. But someone who believes the left has gone too far in its attacks.

From Conservative Tribune:

“We live in an era now where if you don’t take sides, both sides hate you,” Leno stated, recalling how the stakes seemed lower and the jokes against presidents more harmless in his heyday.

“Bush was dumb, and Clinton was horny,” Leno explained. “When I was doing a monologue, I never questioned anybody’s patriotism — you questioned their judgment.”

There also wasn’t the demonization of supporters that there is now.

As to most of the current hosts slamming Trump and his administration — along with his supporters — as stupid, evil and unpatriotic people who should be regarded as second-class citizens, Leno believed those hosts were “overindulging” in the mean-spirited, hateful brand of comedy.

It’s what did he say, so we can bash him today.

“But this constant pounding does have a tendency to anesthetize your feelings.”

“It should be called, ‘What Did Trump Do Now?’ That’s basically what everybody’s monologue is,” he said of the current crop of late-night hosts. “You almost wish for a normal day, just to have a joke.”

Johnny Carson said when people told him to get on the Republicans or Democrats more, The King of Late Night responded, “Why piss off half of your audience?”

Leno and Fallon are true comedians, like Johnny Carson, who actually care more about being funny more than agenda.

People just have a natural breaking point for all this nonsense and it sounds like people are reaching it.

While there’s a niche audience of on the left who loves to hear it because it stokes their fantasies that somehow Trump will somehow be booted out, for normal American humanity, it’s just all too much agenda, all the time.

It’s obvious and people are tired of it.

Kudos to Jay Leno for calling it out!
