Ruth Ginsburg`s Claims: I WILL RESIGN IF TRUMP IS ELECTED AS PRESIDENT !!!

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg were asked on Thursday about the prospect of Donald Trump being handed the job of selecting the next crop of justices, she seemed uneasy at the thought.

“I don’t want to think about that possibility, but if it should be, then everything is up for grabs,” she told The Associated Press in a wide-ranging interview that also touched on the loss of her dear friend Antonin Scalia and some of the court’s biggest rulings in the term that ended in late June.

“I really dislike that man for a number of reasons, and although I am not supposed to put forth my personal views because of my position, I still feel obligated to do whatever I can in order to let the public know that there’s still time to make the right choice,” she added.

“There’s no need to beat around the bush, so I’m just going to go ahead and say it – I will resign my position as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States if that happens. I cannot imagine performing my duties under the constant pressure of waking up in the morning and having to go to work knowing that every ruling we as an institution make will be viewed through the prism of a Trump presidency. I can tolerate this charade of a presidential campaign, but I could not live with him as president,” she said.

  1. Take Kagan & Sotomeyer with you!!

  2. Ginsberg, keep your word and resign, you have been a failure as a Justice from the beginning. You have been a disgrace as a member of the SCOTUS. Resign and go you happy little way. That will make way for a true Justice who will interpret the Constitution as was intended by the founding fathers, who were a lot smarter than you will ever be.

  3. As an “Honorable” Justice, I can only hope she is a woman of her word.

  4. John Paulicelli | November 13, 2016 at 12:08 am |

We the nation accept your resignation!
    Goodbye…..

  5. By all means, stick to your promise and please leave! You’d be doing us all a favor

  6. It may be best that you step down. The people of America made a choice for change. For good, bad or indifferent, they followed the “rules,” placed their votes and made a decision. They did not make threats nor did they burn American flag. They did not vandalized nor loot. They did not disgrace American and what She stands for-they respected the right of every American citizen over the age of 18, to vote for the leader of these United States. It is in the best interest of us all, that you resign. If you are so easily swayed by your feelings, your reactions to what others say, to press releases and poll outcome predictors~ how can you trust yourself to make a logical and legal decision? How can anyone have faith that you will do what is best for America- All of America~

  7. Right again Sam | November 12, 2016 at 6:59 pm |

With respect, Mrs. Ginsberg, you have had years of intimate instruction from the brilliant minds of your close friends Antonin Scalia, and Clarence Thomas, and you still can’t understand the constitution. You nearly always do violence to the supreme law of the land with your vote on the court. Forget Donald Trump. The best possible service you could perform for the country would be to resign, and help any way you can to undo the damage you and the other liberal traitors have done to the constitution.

  8. Good riddance of rotten garbage….will help her pack for free!

  9. Peter Wiethe | November 12, 2016 at 4:30 pm |

Chief Justice, your statement suggests s lack of prudence to me. Thank you for serving on The supreme Court. I hope you didn’t mean you’lobe to Canada either-hopefully hyperbole. Please don’t give up on our Nation like that, our contribute to the extremist reactions of some. You know that our Fathers designed our Government as a system of checks and balances, of which you have dedicated you life as a Supreme Court Justice. I hope whatever your decision, you’ll support “We the people’s”, including The Electoral College. God grant you many years and thank you whatever your decision to continue or not. Sincerely. Peter.

The comments by Justice Ginsberg in November were beyond the pale for a Supreme Court Justice and clearly make her continued service on the Bench unacceptable. She is entitled to her opinion as to who she wants for President but, due to her position as a Justice on our highest court not expected to voice it in a clear attempt to influence the election. She should do as she said she would for the reasons she articulated and resign immediately. If she is indeed a person of high character she will do so.

  11. Go scratch that itch Miss B!

  12. Nah nah nah nah
    Hey hey hey
    GOOD BYE!!!

  13. Bye bye Ruthie..

President Trump can choose 2 SC Judges.

  14. Hallelujah !!!!!!
It just keeps on getting better and better !!!

  15. Oh, come on, people! Do not be so gullible. This story is a HOAX. She NEVER SAID IT. (Of course.)

  16. So when we need you there the most, you are taking off, great that is not the solution. We needo people inside every political area to help fight a dictator who has taken over our freedom. Stay please.

  17. angel bulauitan | November 11, 2016 at 10:22 pm |

Ginsberg has fallen into the bin of politics and appears to be coming out the other side on the losing end — reputation tainted. But then again, since Trump won, she may make good on her promise to abandon America and move to New Zealand, where she can spend her days kiwi-watching.

  18. You would be foolish to end your career in a time of anger because your candidate did not win the Presidency. Just take a deep breath and get back to work. You’ll be needed to help the next Justice get acclimated in his/her Supreme Court Justice appointment. Keep your original plans and retire when the time is right - you’ll enjoy your retirement years without regret.

  19. Winfield P. Gates. Jr. | November 11, 2016 at 9:21 pm |

Just Ginsburg you took an oath to support the constitution and the bill of rights. The constitution is not a living document as you liberals would like us citizens to believe. When you justices do a ruling you need to read and interpet. It in the context it was written in. Therefore you need to take a dictionary from the same time period as the constitution was written in. Due to the fact there are some words have changed meaning. Even if ever so slightly, does the court ever do this not likely. So please keep you word and hand in your resignation

  20. Vicki Shadgett | November 11, 2016 at 6:21 pm |

You haven’t left yet??????? Your probably one of the people in Washington D. C. covering up and allowing laws to be broke.

  21. Charlotten Anderson | November 11, 2016 at 5:56 pm |

Hope we can get a bagpipe band to pipe her out! There are probably many in the USA who would proudly do the honor!

  22. Stuart Heller | November 11, 2016 at 5:48 pm |

With that statement, I would expect Justice Ginsberg to recuse herself from any case coming before the Court involving Donald Trump, whether he is involved as the President or not. Her retirement now would be timely.

  23. Good luck living in communism

  24. Just an excuse to go she prolonged has the stamina to perform the job in the correct capacity. Have a good retirement.

  25. Well She Really Need`s To Push That Resign Button Well Unless She`s Another Hillary And Can Not Tell The Truth And That`s Not Good For A Judge To Lie , Do We Really Want A Liar On The Supreme Court Anyway , I Say Let`s Save Her The Trouble And Push That Button For Her And Fire Her

  26. james kirchner | November 11, 2016 at 3:28 pm |

This is absolutely “rich”………..I too will help her pack and even drive her to an airport, if she needs to go fly somewhere……….

  27. So according to her words she was NOT “feeling any pressure” under an Obama presidency? That’s saying a lot!!! And making it known publicly…she definitely needs to resign.

  28. Well, when are you going to keep your promise ????

  29. Still waiting you old shriveled up hag!

  30. If you are truly honorable and trustworthy, then move forward on keeping your word! You do understand the importance of keeping your word, don’t you?

  31. Hit the road.

  32. It’s time…

  33. douglas dillon | November 11, 2016 at 10:27 am |

    Stand true to your word!

    Dang auto correct

  34. douglas dillon | November 11, 2016 at 10:25 am |

Stand true to you’re word! Otherwise I hope my president tells you,”you’re fired”! You betrayed the job of a Justice!

    Please leave

  35. Oh, come on, people! Don’t be so gullible. It’s a hoax. She never said it. (Of course.)

  36. GOODBYE RUTH! YOU HAVE SERVED YOUR CULTURE OF CORRUPTION WELL! IT’S TIME
FOR WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES TO CLEAN THE SWAMPS!!

  37. Nicholas Fiorillo Jr | November 11, 2016 at 1:41 am |

Ruthie:I hear that Cuba is pretty nice this time of the year. A good place for someone like you to retire.

  38. Happy retirement Justice! You earned your stripes now you are excused! I’m sure you will continue getting your pay! Time for new blood. PS: enjoy your naps off camera!

  39. Another reason to be happy!

  40. Thank you! President Trump can then elect 2 justices.

  41. Roy Henderson | November 10, 2016 at 11:17 pm |

You should have resigned a long time ago your rulings have gone against the Constitution of the United States you should be ashamed of yourself send in the registration and get the hell out that way Trump can nominate 2 Supreme Court Justice instead of just one

  42. If that is what you need to do go ahead. It’s not like I agreed with your decision on most of your rulings.

  43. Euthanize the cunt!

  44. Well he is President, so start packing we won’t miss you with that kind of attitude. good luck and God Bless.

  45. Your “threat” is one of the reasons Trump won.
Many Americans took the “Vote for the Court” pledge.
Now you can go and the Court will have a conservative leaning for the next generation.

  46. Any Uber Drivers available to take them to Mexico? They think closing the borders is wrong where most countries in-prison you or execute you for entering illegally. Go where there isn’t really any law except for the even more corrupt politicians and Drug Lords running the country.

  47. Well I just want to ask you one question…. do you need help packing????

  48. Oh, PLEASE!! The sooner the better, you old crone!

  49. Bye

  50. I certainly hope she carries thru with her threat…..not because she doesn’t approve of Trump, but because her departure is long past due.

  51. Carolyn Ricks | November 10, 2016 at 8:06 pm |

The Supreme Court Justices are not to be in for life. That is a misconception. Read the Constitution:

Article III (Article 3 - Judicial)
    Section 1
The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services, a Compensation, which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office.

The Constitution states that they hold their office “during good Behaviour”. It doesn’t say for life. That means that a Supreme Court Justice CAN be impeached!

  52. The threat to leave this country is refreshing! Hardly a threat, more like a blessing!

  53. Well he won! How soon before you resign?
    Can’t wait

  54. I pray she will keep her promise and retire. It’s time to find someone to bring Justice Antonin Scalia’s dignity and wisdom back to our country’s highest court.

  55. THANK YOU MADAM JUSTICE. I CERTAINLY HOPE YOU ARE A WOMAN OF YOUR WORD.

  56. In her own words, she is supposed to be impartial which she is telling us that she cannot be, so I would say it’s time for her to leave the Supreme Court bench. At least she knows she can’t be impartial with President-elect Trump, and is admitting to it. I would rather she be truthful about her feelings than to have her judgement clouded. It’s time for her to retire…. no disrespect intended!

  57. Her position as a Judge in the supreme court is a position of impartiality and her personnel opinions only get in the way of making these decisions. If she feels she can no longer support the administration then she needs to resign immediately and leave the task to those better suited for the job. Her loss will only strengthen the integrity other justices who have chosen to abide by the rules set for Supreme court justices. she has decided to terminate her service by her own decision to politic against the set rules and regulations so i say good riddance.

  58. You all are some nasty people. You should be ashamed of yourselves acting this way. America is in the State it is in because of people like you. Where is your respect for someone that has provided a services for your country? Where is your sense or community and brotherhood? Everyone is entitled to their opinion without being attacked. Grow up and have some respect!

  59. That is great news, but she may not remember she said in the morning. What she needs to do is share a room with looney Hillary at the nursing home.

  60. Then you are a “fair weather” justice, undeserving of your position. If you feel so strongly about Trump, then now is is the time yiu need to stay and stand up for what you feel is right. Instead, when tthe going gets tough…you quit. Wah wah wah

  61. She needs to resign….she is much too outspoken for a supreme court judge and I’m beginning to wonder if her health is affecting her brain, because her mouth is moving way too much in public and she’s not acting like a Supreme Court Judge…..So please do retire and give everyonee a break from your unwanted opinions!

  62. Have you done it yet I hope you have . If not let me give you a hand with that.

  63. Christopher Malcheski | November 10, 2016 at 5:22 pm |

It is now November 10. What is she waiting for?

  64. Texas Sunfish | November 10, 2016 at 5:19 pm |

Ms. Ginsburg, your have overstepped your bounds as a Justice of the Supreme Court. You need to make good your statement of resigning as you have tainted your position of impartiality.

  65. WHY are you STILL here then? Wishing you hadn’t postured like you did? LEAVE, we DON’T WANT you!

  66. Please do so post haste! Don’t hesitate, you made a promise..now keep it.

  67. When chosen for the position of Justice of The Supreme Court, your personal positions (as far as the public is concerned) do not exist. You are set in a position to show impartiality in areas of politics and social justice. Well, I guess liberals feel they are above these kinds of things!

  68. It is really sad, that any Supreme Court Justice, would want a criminal in the White House, that would sell out her country like Hillary Clinton has. That would be a BAD Supreme Court Justice and if she doesn’t remove herself, she should be removed.

  69. Malinda Parr | November 10, 2016 at 4:25 pm |

Please do us all a favor, leave NOW and don’t look back !!!! You will not be missed !!!

  70. Charlie Gray | November 10, 2016 at 4:17 pm |

The Supreme Court justices are not supposed to let political preferences influence their court decisions. They are supposed to interpret the law as it is written without prejudice, period. They are supposed to be the most highly educated legal minds on the planet and they always seem to be divided on political issues. This kind of bias has been a problem on both sides for a long time. They should never allow any political or any other opinions to influence their court decisions.

  71. Bye Bye

  72. Robert Miklas | November 10, 2016 at 3:40 pm |

    leave now

  73. Since you refuse to obey the oath of your office you cannot be trusted to interpret the law either. Time for you to resign

  74. Ginsberg should resign, not because she said she would but because it was a political statement which no judge should make and Ginsberg admitted that she not do so. This means that we cannot trust her word and an untrustworthy judge should not sit.

  75. She is someone that clearly can not step back and look at both sides honestly, scary to know that she has been making rulings with that kind of partisanship.

  76. Great! Another slot can be filled by a conservative who will preserve our constitutional rights.

  77. Jeri Lynn Daniel | November 10, 2016 at 3:00 pm |

Is she gone yet? She has expressed that she hates our president and therefore cannot be neutral. Therefore, I hope she keeps her word and leaves the court.

  78. What about all those people that said they would leave the country if Trump was elected . Well I’m still waiting they haven’t even packed their bags. They are nothing but big bags of wind .

  79. Hey Merissa, Republicans are not any more evil than Democrats. It was the Democrats that founded the KKK and fought against letting freed slaves become citizens or vote.Fact check this, and then re-read Robert Travis comment!

  80. Just another empty threat from a democrap

  81. Bert Singleton | November 10, 2016 at 2:32 pm |

Please keep your word. Don’t be a liar like Hillary.

  82. Please leave asap and let the United States heal. You shouldn’t have tried to sway peoples votes in your position.

  83. Has she submitted her resignation letter yet? It would open another spot for Trump to make an appointment.

  84. We as AMERICANS accept your resignation Justice Ginsburg but do not lie to us and tell the American public you were just a bit unrational while being questioned. Get the HELL OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT WE DON’T WANT OR NEED YOUR TYPE OF INVOLVEMENT ANYMORE IT IS NOT SAFE OR RATIONAL FOR PEACE OR SAFETY, in your mind of justice so spray your robe with fabreeze and hang it on the third peg too the left of center and walk away do not let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya

  85. I believe in a fair and balanced Supreme Court, I hope she changes her mind and stays to fight another day. I’m not a fan of hers. I voted for Donald Trump and have been a life long Republican, but I do believe we should represent all the people of our great country in our government. An unbalanced government leaves 50 percent of our country feeling left out and left behind. I don’t want to feel that way, I don’t wish it on anyone else. Stay Justice Ginsburg, and fight for your interpretation of the law.

  86. If you are that biased against our President-elect, the man elected by the people you have been appointed to represent, you SHOULD resign! Thank you for your service Justice Ginsburg.

  87. Looks like she, along with the host of celebrities that have threatened to leave will be able to charter their own plane to go to their new homes. I’m sure they can plenty of help packing. She’s too old to think responsibility anyway. Most of them are just mad because we will have a president that actually works and runs the government instead of vacationing and playing golf all the time.

  88. Merrimack, given her position on the SC, which requires decisions to be apolitical, she stepped way out of bounds in using her influence to affect the election. The very fact that she publicly tried to exert that influence renders her unsuitable for the position. She needs to resign as she has made public knowledge her ideological bias and cannot be trusted to render decions free of political bias.

  89. Everyone that says they will resign should be treated as a letter of resignation. Good riddance to anyone who wants to quit or leave

  90. Thank you for your service Justice Ginsburg…. please leave your robe neatly folded by the door…

  91. I’m stunned that she would make such comments, she is more biased than I had previously thought. It was my understanding that she took an oth not to be swayed by her personal feelings and beliefs. Resignation accepted, thanks for your service.

  92. What an asinine thought process: So you will resign Now that Trump is president? Then you are assisting making the Supreme Court a one party institution.

  93. I agree 100%. I voted for the mandatory 75 year old retirement but it seems to be a 50/50 split. It will be interesting to see what happens.

  94. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out bitch

  95. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out ms. Left winger

  96. Since she openly showed her bias way of thinking during a presidential election, she should be forced out of office ASAP. Justices are currently offered a lifetime seat, but they can still be removed for any impropriety. Public interviews and insults during a presidential campaign is over the “free speech” line in the sand, when it comes to someone or something like a SC Justice. She is free to speak her piece to family and friends, but not in an open interview. Not when her words could sway an election. Resign immediately, or I will gladly be the one to file suit against you, Ruth Bader Ginsburg!!! Funny thing is, Congress is the one to listen to any hearings when it comes to a Justice being involved in a scandal, and both the House and Senate are controlled by Republicans. I’m sure your ethics violations will be a swift removal if you choose to not resign first. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

  97. Is this Justice an honorable person who can be trusted to keep her promises? Or was it simply an empty, lying promise she made while crossing her fingers behind her back. Was she thinking “cross my heart, hope to die”?

  98. Brian Justice | November 10, 2016 at 10:23 am |

Great news. Now if the rest of the idiots that promised to leave will go with her.

  99. Fred Terhune | November 10, 2016 at 9:21 am |

she has already forgotten that she said that

  100. Bye-Bye, What country do I purchase your “One Way” ticket to? Just doing my part to save America from you liberaltards.

  101. Please make good on your threat, Ms Ginsburg. The Supreme court needs another position to fill with a Conservative minded judge. Thank you.

  102. Wow, You Republicans are evil, this woman is a person to who is also entitled to her freedom of speech regardless if you like it or not.
Hasn’t anyone taught you to respect your elders? Would any of you like to be treated that same way?

  103. If you truly feel this way, and do not think you could set aside your personal issues to make make decisions based on the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights that affect million of Americans for decades, then by all means retire or resign post haste.

  104. Robert Travis | November 10, 2016 at 7:29 am |

She freely admits that she should not be offering her personal opinion in public. I would offer that it is more than just a simple ethics violation, but was done in an effort to subvert democracy. Her threat, apparently she believed would be weighty enough to disuade voters from voting fo the candidate of their choice and instead voting for the candidate of her choice. If this is an example of her mental acuity, restraint, and judgment, then it is apparent that it is time for her to retire.

  105. Time for you to retire. Go in peace ✝️

  106. So what now you…..

  107. So what now? Resign.

  108. dont let the door bang on your boney but

  109. Justice Ginsburg, please do not resign! We NEED your level judicial views and opinions even more than ever!! Please rethink and stay on the bench!!

  110. So Ole Girl……re you another Lying Democrat or can we expect your resignation today? Before the weekend? I think Your just another Democrat Liar

  111. All I can tell you is you can leave the Supreme Court and that is not going to change the fact that you will still wake up with TRUMP as President and still have to live with that part of it or you can go to Canada with the rest of the people leaving! I will personally be glad you resign so get to sending that resignation in!

  112. I guess time will tell with her - but she needs to keep her promise. The sooner the better. I am sick and tired of all the liars. The celebrities that said they would leave need to LEAVE too!! Immediately.

  113. Since you are representing truth and honesty being in the highest court of the nation, we expect you to follow thru on your “Threat”! You can send in your letter of resignation now and not have to wait till President-elect Donald Trump is sworn in as our next President. Then that will leave another opening in the Supreme court that can be filled with someone who, hopefully will keep their personal opinions out of the public which you should have done during this period of our countries process of picking our next POTUS. You remind me of the other “Celebrities” that thought their opinion would help us decide who to vote for during this current election process to pick future leaders of the USA!!!

  114. Rick Scheiba | November 9, 2016 at 5:42 pm |

Judge Ginsburg, I have a pen for your resignation letter if needed.

  115. I’ll help her pack.

  116. This 83 year old woman should resign. It is just inconceivable how a person in her position can be put there for life. There should be a limit. The Supreme Court needs fresh blood and someone capable of doing so with a clear and unprejudiced mind. And this doesn’t just apply to Mrs Ginsberg, it goes for every member of the SC. They definitely need term limits.

  117. I don’t believe she will do it.

  118. Dixie Burge | November 9, 2016 at 5:24 pm |

Okay, Ms. Ginsberrg, we are waiting impatiently for you to keep your word! It can’t happen fast enough to suit me.

  119. Bye-bye. It’s your loss. Not ours !

  120. You would think that a justice would be smarter. If she resigns then Trump gets to select her replacement.

  121. You look tired, go take a nap.

  122. Sign the papers today and leave or are you telling lies like the others??? Trump won’t need you there

  123. See ya! Happy retirement! It’s time to ride off in the sunset…

  124. Time to put up or shut up. Leave already!

  125. Irene V. Waldron | November 9, 2016 at 10:28 am |

Can we expect your resignation, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, post haste - or are you just another liar …
